Jack of all trades or Master of one?

You have probably heard of the saying “Jack of all trades and master of none”. Well, as the owner of “Spanish homes just for you”, I like to think of my company not as a jack of all trades but as a master of one, Spain and Spanish property.
Spain and in particular, the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida are the areas that I know and love, having lived here for the past seven years. That is why we specialise in selling property only in this area.
It would be easy to branch out into other property markets such as Italy, Cyprus, Bulgaria or Hungary but it would be difficult to answer peoples questions and concerns without an expert knowledge. My staff both in Spain and in England are also well qualified to provide information and advice on the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida, ensuring that everybody feels reassured and relaxed that they have all the facts before purchasing property in Spain.
A personal service to our clients
Dealing only with Spanish property makes it easy for us to provide a more personal service to clients. I believe it is important for them to know the owner of the company is always available for them and that is why I like to personally greet people at our regular fact finding exhibitions in Selby whenever possisble. And when clients come out to visit Spain on an inspection trip, it will often be Tim that meets them at the airport and spends his time showing them round areas and properties during their stay. Not many Spanish property company owners will be prepared to do that.
But just because I meet you at an exhibition in Selby and at the airport in Spain, don't think “Spanish homes just for you” is a one man band, far from it. Over in Spain is a team of dedicated people all ready to help you in any way they can. Like myself, they have all chosen to make their homes in the area and know and love everything about it. From helping me find you your dream home in the sun all the way through to receiving the keys and beyond, their aim is to provide a five star service that you will find hard to match anywhere else. A service that I believe would be difficult to provide if I chose to diversify into other countries.
Yes it would be possible to use agents to sell in Hungary or Cyprus or Florida but they would be agents and not part of the “Spanish homes just for your” family and Tim believes that they wouldn't necessarily share his values and high standards. The same level of service will also be found at the Selby office where even thought the staff don't live in Spain, you'll still feel their passion for the area when you call in for an informal discussion about what Spain has to offer.
So whether you call in to the office in Selby or the office in La Zenia to find out about our five star service, don't be surprised if I come over and introduce myself.

Q. Who buys property in Spain?

A. according to a survey carried out by Moneycorp
during the last half of 2006, about 30% of all people buying property abroad. This was one of the findings from their analysis of over 18,000 of their clients. France trailed way behind at 14%, Bulgaria and USA on 12% and everywhere else trailing off into the distance.You may wonder why so many people still want Spain when there is so much talk about emerging markets in other countries. Well there are some very good reasons for this.
Ease of access
You cannot help but notice the numerous low cost flight offers to Spain made by the growing number of low cost airlines operating out of most regional airports in the UK and the flights are plentiful. In particular, Alicante on the Costa Blanca is served by 19 different airlines from the UK with over 35 flights landing per day.
Not only is there a huge choice of low cost and convenient flights to Alicante and Murcia but the journey time is quick. The average flight time from the UK to Alicante or Murcia is just under two and a half hours.
This makes it possible for people to get the most from their property investment by taking long weekend breaks in the sun as well as for longer periods. It's even close enough for some people to live in Spain and commute to the UK for work during the week. This is not as easy to do when flight times stretch to four hours or more.
Infrastructure
The low cost readily available flights coupled with short flying times are great but only if the onward journey to your property is quick. On the Southern Costa Blanca and Costa Calida where we specialise, virtually all of our properties are within half an hour from either Alicante or Murcia airports.
Combined with the road and motorway networks in the region, you'll soon arrive at your property relaxed and ready to enjoy the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle on offer. whereas with other destinations, there may well be a slow and torturous onward journey to your destination.
Climate and culture
Whether you holiday or live permanently in your Spanish property, you'll find the climate ideal all year round. With mild winters and warm summers you can make the most of the Spanish culture and cuisine whenever you like. It's not often that you'll find the weather curtails outdoor activities unlike some other property hotspots such as Hungary where harsher winters are the norm.
Proven track record
Whether for a holiday home, property investment or for permanent living, Spain has been a popular destination for many years now. The processes are well documented and pitfalls that are often talked about are well known and easy to avoid by using a reputable agent and lawyer that is not affiliated to the builder.
This is not necessarily the case for some of the other emerging countries such as Bulgaria, Romania or Cyprus where property may be cheaper but much more riskier due to political instabilities or other influencing factors.
More for your money
Competition in the Spanish property market has driven builders to do more than just build houses. These days, building specification are much much higher than in the past and higher than many of the developments in some of the new property hotspots. Spanish builders also recognise the likes and needs of UK property buyers and are keen to accommodate these. They are also keen to ensure their developments stand out and so value added features and facilities are now becoming the norm.
Developments like royal park spa (shown above) where a wellness centre with spa, gymnasium and fitness activities is available for use by residents or perhaps La Tercia Real which is surrounded by top class golf courses for your enjoyment.

'Spanish homes just for you' are pleased to announce that the official opening of their new office premises in Selby, North Yorkshire took place over the weekend of 12th and 13th of May.
During the weekend, we were pleased to welcome many old friends who we have helped in the past to buy property in Spain along with many new faces, eager to find out more about what Spanish homes just for you are all about. Everybody who called in received our traditional warm Spanish welcome before helping us celebrate the grand opening while enjoying traditional Spanish refreshments and snacks and some informal conversation in a relaxed Mediterranean style.
So why do we have a UK office?
First, it provides us with a presence in North Yorkshire from which our Spanish property experts can help people in the region realise their dream of owning property in the sun. It is our base from which we will be hosting regular property exhibitions in many of the surrounding areas such as Leeds, Harrogate and York, enabling people to discuss all aspects of buying property in Spain, living in Spain and Spanish life in general.
Second, it provides us with a central office in the UK from which we can support all of our associated partners in other areas of the country as well as our many clients. We can now co-ordinate all of our sales and after-sales activities from the UK, enabling clients to stay in touch without the need to contact us on an International phone call.

Builders get busy in new Selby office

The builders are busy and making good progress with the renovation of the new office premises of 'Spanish homes just for you' in Selby, North Yorkshire. Working hand in hand with chief architect Steve Saunders and Selby town council, local builder Leon and his team from Shipley builders have made good progress both inside and out in preparing the property for a total refurbishment programme.
Downstairs, the property is being converted into an open plan exhibition style office where you will be able to browse the many quality new and resale Spanish properties available in a relaxed environment and speak with our property consultants about how you can own your dream home in Spain.
You will be able to find about the beaches, golfing and many other activities on the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida. If you are considering relocating to Spain, our consultants can answer any questions you may have about living in Spain such as healthcare and schools.
Upstairs, the property is being converted into a luxury apartment to be used by representatives from our Spanish office at La Zenia when they fly in to support the many weekend property exhibitions that will be staged during 2007, both at our new office and also at various locations around the North Yorkshire area.

Spanish homes just for you are pleased to announce the launch of their new website, redesigned from the ground up to provide you with access to all of the information you'll need to find your dream home in Spain and none of the information you don't.
Many websites today have evolved over time in-line with emerging technologies. More and more seem to over indulge in the use of animation on every page, fancy graphics that distract from the real information, messages that pop up when you don't want them and things that flash or change every time you move the mouse. In fact, so many distractions on the page that you struggle to find the information you want. The internet is after all, about providing information and not a technology showcase.
In conjunction with our web design partner, <digital:idiom>, we decided last year to redesign our website with one simple aim in mind - to let you find out all about us, our properties and our services in a simple and straightforward way whilst providing you with a visually pleasing experience. We have designed the new site:
- to meet all industry standards so that it works for all people using any PC all of the time
- to be easy to use, easy to navigate and easy to find the information you want
- to be eye catching and visually pleasing but not distracting
- to be fast to load pages so you won't sit around waiting
